ONE FOR THE APPLE CRATE

I have a large apple crate where I put my art pieces that don't turn out as planned. Kind of "out of sight, out of mind". This is the crate's newest resident. Started out like it might turn into something, but I just over-worked the whole thing. I find that I do that a lot with watercolors. Still, not a complete waste as I learned quite a lot.

ETCHING

Watercolor has taken up my studio time lately, but I think it's about time to use my press again. I've done a preliminary drawing for a new etching. I'll need to change and adjust a few things and then get it transferred to copper. Also need to see what inventory I have in print paper.

WATERCOLOR AGAIN

Started a new watercolor. I'm still trying Linda Kemp's negative techniques. This is the underpainting. Now comes the hard part.

YouTube

I was sent a reminder that I haven't put anything on my Youtube page in over a year! I didn't even know that I had a Youtube page.

PRINTING PRESS

I follow a blog by artist Krista Hasson and noticed that she now has a new printing press. Her's is very similar to the one I have. I know she is going to love it!

A couple of mine below.

ANOTHER WATERCOLOR

Practice, practice, practice!! This painting is done on a larger piece of Arches 300 pound watercolor paper and took about three hours.

POSITIVELY NEGATIVE

I'm really trying to give watercolors another chance. I love the medium but find almost every attempt to be a battle. I started a small painting in my travel journal using Linda Kemp's negative painting technique. Not only did I have fun doing it, but actually liked the results.

PASTELBORD

I'm still adding to the watercolor I started on the Ampersand Pastelbord. It needs more work but fun to keep  putting paint on it.

NEW PHOTOS

I spent some time taking new photos of some of my larger pastels. They are too big for my scanner.
