WATERCOLOR AGAIN

Started a new watercolor. I'm still trying Linda Kemp's negative techniques. This is the underpainting. Now comes the hard part.

POSITIVELY NEGATIVE

I'm really trying to give watercolors another chance. I love the medium but find almost every attempt to be a battle. I started a small painting in my travel journal using Linda Kemp's negative painting technique. Not only did I have fun doing it, but actually liked the results.

NEGATIVE PAINTING

I happened across a clip on Youtube showing a negative painting technique that I really enjoyed. The demonstration featured Linda Kemp, a full time artist from Ontario Canada. She has a book and video out called 'Watercolor Painting Outside the Lines'. If you are interested in painting with a different twist, search her out on Youtube, or visit her website.

NEGATIVE PAINTING

I have written about the free art lessons on Jerry's Artarama in past blogs. This weekend I watched Linda Kemp's video lessons and was fascinated with her unique techniques. Her use of negative painting is so much fun to watch. If watercolor painting is your thing, take some time to watch her Negative space project and the Landscape project.

Her website shows many of her wonderful paintings.
