I have been terrible at posting lately. Family things have been keeping me busy. My grandson's birthday has come and gone and I can't believe how old he is.

A visit from my grandson for the next few days. Five years old. I'm tired already!

Another attempt at a portrait of my grandson. Fun to do but, once again, I seem to make him look like he is in high school. He is just three!

FUNNY ONE

I was doing a practice session with watercolors (which I always struggle with) and worked from a picture of my three year old grandson. Didn't turn out quite like I hoped. I'm going to keep it though because it's how he might look....when he's twelve!!

My grandson spent a little time in my studio on this last visit. Made his own lino print!

FOURTH

My son and his family came up to Big Bear for the holiday weekend. Liam (grandson) came up early on Thursday to enjoy the fireworks over the lake. He enjoyed the show!!!

FAVORITE

I started this pastel just to kill time because I didn't want to start a big project. Turns out that it is my favorite drawing. Maybe it's just the subject. My grandson Levi is becoming a person to be reckoned with!!

Thanks to a fellow blogger (Jeannette) I bought an Arches travel notebook to practice watercolors with. Great for sketching and value studies. I'm not any better, but wasting a lot less paper!

LIAM'S SURPRISE

I hung the finished pastel I did of my grandson above our fireplace mantle. It will be perfect there except it needs to be in a larger frame. Kind of gets lost in all of the space!!

NICE WEEKEND

My son and his family spent the weekend with us here in Big Bear. My grandson loves to play my drums so I know he had a fun couple of days. I also finished a large pastel painting of him that we are hanging above our fireplace.

COPPER ETCHING - GRANDSON

Never too much of a good thing. Seems that I'm finding myself using my grandson as the subject in everything I do with my art lately. A copper plate etching works wonderfully to capture my little man for the whole family.

SMALL SUBJECT

Needed a few note cards to send out as thank-yous and couldn't think of a better subject than my grandson. Just a quick watercolor and viola!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I have a new and rejuvenated holiday spirit this year. I'm enjoying sharing Liam with Mike and Kim. Seeing everything fresh and exciting through my grandson's eyes!
