I was doing a practice session with watercolors (which I always struggle with) and worked from a picture of my three year old grandson. Didn't turn out quite like I hoped. I'm going to keep it though because it's how he might look....when he's twelve!!

FOOLIN' AROUND
I was just doing a practice session with my pastels, working on faces from a photograph I found. It just kind of grew bigger and bigger. My wife's comment "what the hell is that?" sums up how it turned out.

DRAW, DRAW FAST AS YOU CAN

Summer seems to be leaving quickly from my little community of Big Bear Lake. Cold mornings and chilly evenings. For me, that means getting everything ready for winter. Our boats are now off of the lake and gardening things put away. With all of this activity, I have not found much time to get down to my studio. I did get to do a practice session I read about, that has you just start putting down colors at a quick pace and hope that it looks like something somewhere along the way. Really fun with very little pressure.

KOI AGAIN

My pastels are getting quite a workout over the past month. It's an instant gratification thing!!
I received a good printmaking information link from a nice person named Erin

OLD AND NEW

I was able to spend a few hours down in my studio yesterday, first working on a practice etching and then doodling on my scratchboard. I want to start a new copper etching and have ordered another plate. Until it arrives I did this etching on a sheet of acetate. Also had time to put more scratches on the scratchboard I keep handy.
