I found this great tutorial clip on Youtube showing Michael Halbert doing a scratchboard/pen and ink drawing. It is long but I couldn't stop watching. With so much computer graphics being used now, it is fascinating to see hand drawn art.
Two new pastels that I recently finished. Both from pictures we took on one of our trips back east. Country side in Vermont and a house we rented on Ile Verte, an island on the Saint Lawrence river in Canada.
This solarplate etching I did turned into a great Tee-Shirt idea. I have a number of things available at Cafepress and this one has been kind of popular. http://www.cafepress.com/jgbcreations
I happened upon a website of watercolor paintings done by John Salmon, an artist that lives in London England. He has posted a couple of demos on Youtube that I really enjoyed. As he begins a painting you would think that there is no way that they could turn out well. Kind of like my watercolors! The difference is that his turn out fantastic. Take a little time to see how watercolor should work.
I studied art many, many years ago, then drifted away from it pursuing a living. Ten years ago, through a love for photography, I revisited my art and creative side.
In this new adventure, I discovered printmaking. Linocuts and woodblock work hold so many surprises for me.
