LINOCUT PROOF

I pulled a proof after my final (third) cut on my latest linocut. I only see a few minor changes I want to make and then it will be time to move on to something new. I did this from a photograph by Rob Gardiner, a photographer who shoots wonderful black and white pictures of New York.

IN PROGRESS

Working on two different pieces right now. One is a reduction linocut with the second cut made and printed. I plan on one more cut which will be the black detail. Also working on the pastel I had started a while back. It needs to be brightened considerable because of the brown Canson pastel paper I used.

FINEART AMERICA

One of my older pastels placed in a Finart America art contest. I only had to vote for it 142 times! Just kidding!!

DOWNSTAIRS TIME

We received about two feet of snow over this past weekend. Allowed me time to get downstairs when not out on the end of a shovel. Worked on the linocut and started a new pastel.

HOWLING AT THE MOON

I donated my last print of 'Howling at the Moon' to a friend for an upcoming charity event. Never sure how these things will turn out. Can be a little embarrassing if nobody bids on the print!

I am working on a new linocut but keep getting sidetracked by pastel stuff. I am learning that there are all kinds of techniques that I had forgotten all about. Richard McKinley does fantastic pastel paintings and has a number of videos on youtube that are great. You can see his work at:

STILL WORKING

I think this is the longest I've worked on one pastel. Trying to video parts of the process took a bit of time, but just enjoying this piece has extended the creative time also. I want to move to the linocut that I started, so need to wrap this one up. More work on the flowers and butterfly should do it.
