WORLD OF PRINTMAKING

Here's another good website if you are interested (even a little) in printmaking. It is loaded with information on all types of printmaking including techniques, tools, the different kinds of supports (paper), plus useful places to find supplies.

PRINTMAKING ARTIST

Below is a link to a good printmaking site with tons of interesting information. The artist is Maria Arango and, along with her wonderful art, she has posted links (look in the 'Artistry' section) that contain all kinds of printmaking ideas.

'In The Park' (below) is a reduction woodblock print I did a few years ago.

FINISHED

Seems like I'm never sure when to stop working on a piece. End up over-working it to death. This pastel is already very busy so it needed to be done!

PASTEL START AND TWO OLDER PRINTS

Started the base coat on my new pastel painting. Using water-soluble pastel sticks which are new to me. Also, posted a couple of older prints that I had forgot about. 'Devil Music' is a reduction woodblock print and 'The Farm' is a solarplate print.

AMPERSAND

I have used different pastel papers and even Arches print paper for my pastel paintings, but just recently I purchased some Pastelbord by Ampersand. I'm excited to see how this will compare to the texture of paper. Thinking I will start small (landscape) until I get the feeling of the stiffness of the board.

SPRING

Because Big Bear, very often, doesn't see the last of snow until after Mother's Day, we are careful about saying spring is actually here. Keeping that in mind, it has been beautiful in our little valley. Left and below are two acrylic paintings I had done of flowers in my wife's garden.
